Cultivating collaborative climate dialogue.

Fresh Carbon is a biweekly BCarbon newsletter promoting natural, creative thoughts surrounding the voluntary carbon market.

What is BCarbon?

As a nonprofit carbon registry and climate research center that emerged from Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy, we bring simplicity, reliability, and scale to the market for nature-based carbon credits.

BCarbon’s measurement-focused protocols provide a pathway to net-zero goals, strengthen rural economies, and regenerate rangelands, forests, and coastal marshes.

Existing standards for nature-based carbon credits are often impractical for landowners and lacking in empirical rigor. BCarbon provides pragmatic, high-integrity climate solutions through its protocols and research.

Become a stakeholder

We welcome fresh thinkers from every industry and background. Innovation through diversity is our most powerful asset, and BCarbon would not be possible without the work of a trailblazing group of stakeholders - first organized by the Center for Energy Studies at Rice University - which include landowners, government officials, environmental professionals, industry leaders, philanthropists, and academics. Send an email to sarah.swackhamer@bcarbon.org to get started with us.
